Marisa Rodriguez grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. At age 5 she discovered playing music. Her older brother was unable to go to one of his piano lessons and Marisa eagerly volunteered to go in his place! At age 11, she began playing trumpet and has loved it ever since. During her high school years, Marisa attended various music festivals and played in honor bands, including Colorado’s All-State Symphonic Band. She also taught trumpet and piano lessons to younger students.

From graduation until the present, she has attended the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. She is a freshman, currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance. Her ensembles include the University Jazz Band and the Wind Ensemble.

Besides playing trumpet, she also enjoys playing piano and singing. Outside of the music school, Marisa participates in a worship band for Campus Crusade for Christ, where she plays keyboard.

In the future, Marisa plans on attending graduate school and following her passion in life.
