Sarah Kleinsteiber

Sarah Kleinsteiber began playing trumpet at the age of eleven at St. Bernard’s Elementary School in her hometown of Watertown, Wisconsin. As a graduate of Watertown High School she was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award and received a full-tuition music scholarship to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she received a Bachelors of Music Education and was named Outstanding Senior Student of the music department in May 2005. After several months of traveling and studying the history of art and philosophy in Europe, she decided to pursue a Master of Music degree in Music History at the University of Denver. She currently performs with the Lamont Jazz Ensemble, La Bella Brass Quintet, Aurora Symphony Orchestra and Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra. Beyond trumpet playing, Sarah is also an avid Scrabble player, tri-athlete and yogi. Her future plans include experiencing as much of the world as possible through music and travel and eventually pursuing a PhD in Ethnomusicology.
